Officials of Ntwetwe Business Link SACCO in Kyankwanzi Sub County are in trouble for alleged abuse of member’s savings worth shillings 12 million. They are implicated officials are Ronald Ssekagya, manager Ntwetwe Business Link SACCO and three board members. Officials allegedly with loans are Lukaka Abdullah, chairman Ntwetwe Business Link SACCO, Vice chairman Ntambi Jeremiah vice chairperson and secretary general Charles Semate.
Ssekagya is accused of misappropriating shilling 6 million and the three board members are accused of illegally taking out a loan of shillings 6 million. Yesterday, over 500 members of Ntwetwe Business Link SACCO petitioned, Caleb Tukaihikiriza, Kyankwanzi Resident District Commissioner over the matter. Ndondo Sensalire Salongo, a member of the SACCO says that they petitioned the RDC after Ssekagya went into hiding.
Yesterday, Tukaihikiriza ordered the immediate termination of the contracts of the implicated officials saying that he can not look as government programs are sabotaged. Abukari Kayemba was elected as the new SACCO chairman, Salongo Ssesalire Ndondo his deputy, Joel Ssebikali Secretary, Gertrude Sewanyana treasury and four other committee members.
But Abdullah Lukaka, insist he is still the chairman of Ntwetwe Business Link SACCO. Lukaka who claims that his term of office expires in six months has threatened to seek legal redress in courts of law. He accuses the RDC of acting outside the law by ordering fresh elections.
