Police in Hoima is holding Bernard Kahwa, a resident of Kyabalyanga village for murdering a man over 200 shillings. Kahwa is wanted for murdering Julius Kyamanywa, a resident of the same village.
Patrick Mwebaze, the officer in charge of Criminal Investigations Hoima Police station says that the suspected is accused of killing Kyamwanywa of Tuesday morning at Kyabalanga trading center.
Mwebaze says that troubled started after the deceased failed to pay shillings 200 to Kahwa after losing to him in a game of cards. He says that Kahwa lost his cool when Kyamanywa started hurling insults at him.
Mwebaze explains that Kahwa picked up a splint from the pork roasting hearth and hit him to death. He says that Kyamanywa died instantly due to over bleeding.
Following the incident residents threatened to lynch Kahwa but he was rescued by police that arrived in time. Mwebaze says that the suspect will be charged with murder.
