Police in Iganga have issued an arrest warrant for the district LC V vice chairperson for forgery and uttering false documents. Mariam Nangobi is wanted for allegedly forging her ordinary level certificate; she claims she got from Bukoyo SS in 1997. Nangobi ran into trouble when she presented the certificate to the district council for the approval of her nomination as vice LC V chairperson.

However councilors discovered that her Ordinary level certificate was forged and referred the matter to police.
Matters for Nangobi worsened when Ibrahim Lule, head teacher Bukoyo Secondary school wrote to the council disowning her certificate. Herbert Kisame, Iganga District council speaker wrote to police asking them to handle the matter.

Steven Kaija, Iganga Criminal Investigations officer says that they issued the arrest warrant for Nangobi after summoning her several times to appear for interrogations in vain. Nangobi has not yet responded to the matter as she could not be reached by our reporter.
