Sylvia Akello, the former Otuke district woman Parliamentary seat contestant, has been arrested for alleged obstruction of justice.
Akello was arrested from Lira the prison, where she had gone to visit the former LCV district chief, Donald Olet, currently facing charges of presenting forged academic documents for his nomination.
Akello fled into hiding a week ago, after a warrant of arrest was issued by the Grade II magistrate court in Lira accusing her of her alleged involvement in aiding the escape of a state witness.
Henry Alyanga, Central North Police spokesman said Akello was arrested and handed over to police on Wednesday evening.
Alyang says she will appear in court shortly to answer the charges of obstruction of justice.
