Police in Kiryandongo have destroyed five acreas of Marijuana in Mboira village, Kigumba Sub County, in Kiryandongo district.

Police in Kiryandongo have destroyed five acreas of Marijuana in Mboira village, Kigumba Sub County,  Kiryandongo district.

The marijuana plants were destroyed during a police crackdown on Marijuana growing in the area. 
 
Patrick Byaruhanga, the Kiryandongo District Police Commander ,said on Friday that  three people have been  arrested in connection with growing Marijuana, contrary to the law.  
 
The suspects are  Moses Namukolia, Charles Obia and Geoffrey Eyoma.  The DPC says, four others suspects including a woman identified as Veronica Nakuru, are still at large. He says the suspects have been selling the plant to west Nile and southern Sudan.
 
Byaruhanga disclosed that suspects will be produced before court shortly.
