The Force commander told agencies that the area of control is still small compared to that controlled by Al-Shabab forces.

The security situation in Somalia is greatly improving in the areas controlled by AMISOM,  the African Union Mission in Somalia and the Transitional Federal Government, or TFG, forces, according to outgoing Force Commander Nathan Mugisha.

The Force commander told agencies on Thursday that the area of control is still small compared to that controlled by Al-Shabab forces.
