The office of the president has ordered the Kamuli town clerk Edith Namayiga, to withdraw all reserve force security officers.

Godfrey Kayongo, the presidential adviser on markets said the decision stems from reports that vendors were wrongly evicted.

He says his office has received reports that the reserve officers have been behind the numerous thefts of vendors merchandise in the market.

Police will in the meantime take over the guarding duties at the market.

Musa Nabende, the Kamuli district police commander, says he is ready to provide enough security to protect people's property.
