Hundreds of fishmongers at Pabbo landing site, in Akokoro have asked government to provide them with the recommended fishing gears.
The appeal comes a week after the Beach Management Unit Operatives confiscated and destroyed more than 100 illegal fishing gears.

Cease Okek, a resident at the site, said government should reward those who have surrendered the illegal fishing gears by giving them standard and acceptable gears.
He said a new recommended fishing net is sold at Shs25, 000 and most fishermen cannot afford to buy them.
