Phillip Odong, a private security guard attached to Group 4 Security has shot himself dead in Kitgum town. Odong committed suicide on Tuesday at about 6pm shortly after reporting for duty at DFCU bank.
It is not yet clear why Odong decided to end his life. An eye witness says that he saw Odong rest his head on the gun before he heard a gun shot. The bullet shuttered Odong’s skulls into pieces. Nasur Oringa, Kitgum District Police Commander says that they have launched investigations into the incident.
He says that it is too early for police to ascertain why Odong shot himself. Joseph Stanislaus Okitui, Kitgum DFCU branch manager says that he cannot explain why and how the guard shot himself. Officials of Group 4 security have not yet commented on the death of Odong as they could not be reached for comment.
