Wilson Bushara, Luweero’s self styled prophet is issuing invitation cards to his followers to attend the “last supper”.
Bushara is telling his followers that that the end of the world is drawing nearer and the signs are visible on earth, including lightning, earthquakes, and floods among others. He claims that those with cards will be taken to heaven alive and those without cards will go to hell.
The invitation card a copy of which Uganda Radio Network has seen is made of plastic and has the picture of Bushara which is in triplicate.
Bushara says that he is responding to a call from God as statedin the book of Revelation but declined to state the date when the world would end.
Bushara, who claims to be a prophet of World Message Last Warning church, hit the headlines in 1999 when he declared that the world was about to end and hundreds of people flooded his church at Bukoto village in Kikamulo Sub County in Nakaseke district for salvation.
But in 2000, police raided his church and dispersed the followers after another cult, headed by Joseph Kibwetere claimed over 1,000 people in Kanungu district in March of that year.
Bushara escaped but was arrested in Iganga and charged with defilement and holding illegal assemblies. The cult was also banned.
Ten years after his arrest and release, the Luweero cult leader has started issuing invitation cards to his 5000 followers that are spread in Luweero, Mbale, Busia, Kampala, Iganga among other districts to attend the last supper in heaven.

A follower, James Kavuma, who has camped at the cult site for 5 years says that he has got his own invitation card and waiting for that day when he will be taken alive to heaven to attend the last supper. The followers claim that the cards were given to them at no cost but after being blessed by the 'prophet' Bushara.
Bushara’s invitation cards have raised fears that the banned church could be trying to regroup again in a Kanungu-like incident.
Samuel Kakooza, a resident in the area says that government abolished the church and its activities but they are surprised to see fresh events being organized with unclear motives.
He explains that all the things Bushara preached in 1999 didn’t come to pass, a sign that both the prophet and message are false.
John Ssembiro, the chairman LC1 of Luteete parish says that the local leaders are disturbed and want an independent police inquiry into Bushara’s activities.
The Nakaseke district police commander, Edward Kyaligonz, says that police are conducting fresh investigations into Bushara activities and will make public its findings later.
