Two people are feared dead and two others have survived after a marine accident at Kaiso landing site in Buseruka Sub county, Hoima district.
The marine accident occurred at around midnight on Wednesday, when the boat sailing from Kaiso-Democratic Republic of Congo capsized due to heavy winds.
Pascal Ecumu, the officer in charge marine Lake Albert says the canoe had two people on board and fish.
It was heading to Kyonya fish market in the Democratic of Congo.
Ecumu identifies the survivors only as Ayebale and Simon. Those still missing were not readily identified.
The survivors were rescued by fishermen a few kilometers away from Kaiso landing site.
Mafu Oponguru, a fisherman is the one that rescued the two survivors this morning at 8am.He told Uganda Radio Network that he found the two men trying to swim offshore about two kilometers into the water from Kaiso landing site.
Although they were rescued in poor health, they have been treated and discharged.
Two months ago 16 people died after their boat heading to Panyimur market capsized.
A search for the missing persons begins on Friday.
