Joseph Kiyimba, owner of Ambiance Discotheque, one of the leading night clubs in Masaka Municipality is threatening to sue Masaka Municipality.
The planned suit stems from a recent order by the municipality to demolish the construction work by the Discotheque.
The councilors led by Teddy Namuddu, the Chairperson Works and Production committee claim that Ambiance intruded on the road reserve and constructed the club and parking yard.
The councilors resolved that Ambiance discotheque be demolished because the owner did not follow the approved municipal construction plan.
Masaka Municipal council also instituted a probe led by Johnson Baryantuma, the Masaka town Clerk to investigate the circumstances under which Ambiance was constructed in a road reserve.
But Joseph Kiyimba, the Ambiance owner has described the council’s resolution as act of sabotage.
Kiyimba told URN that he will sue the Municipality for alleged sabotage.
Kiyimba says he reviewed his plan after the council blocked his work in 2010.
Kiyimba also says before opening it to the general public earlier this year, both police and Masaka Municipal council issued him with an occupation certificate. He says he will use his land title, occupation certificate to sue Masaka municipality.
The plans by the municipality to demolish Ambiance have also not gone down well with the revelers.
Andrew Kyamagero, the Spokesperson of Masaka Corporate Network, an association of night club goers says they will stage protests against the municipality’s plans to block the construction work.
