The Nakaseke Resident District commissioner, Geoffrey Kyomukama, has decided to relocate his farm, in response to growing public dissent over his animals.
The RDC has recently been accused of grazing his animals in land that belongs to the residents of Katakara village in Kikamulo sub county, in Nakaseke district.
The RDC is also accused of annexing pieces of land to his farm and threatening to evict the residents to pave way for the expansion of his farm.
Residents claim that the RDC Kyomukama bought a land title of 200 acres from Dinah Ndabidde, a former landlord and started annexing more land to feed more than 100 heads of cattle.
They threatened to petition President Museveni over this conduct.
But on Saturday, the RDC invited more than 200 residents at the village for a reconcilliation meeting and admitted making losses to the residents.
He said that he has resolved to relocate the cattle to the cattle corridor in Northern Nakaseke district.
The RDC gave out free goats and slaughtered a bull which in what was seen as a sign of reconcilliationover the past wrongs.
But the RDC fell short of announcing a compesation package for the people who have been accusing him of encroaching on their land.
Residents who spoke to URN Reporter on condition of anonymity for fear of being victimized said that RDC Kyomukama addressed a minor issue of animals that trespass on their food crops and demanded that he addresses the fate of their land that he annexed to his farm without compensating the owners.
The RDC however told URN reporter that the accusations were malicious and aimed at tarnishing his name.
