Police in Kampala have arrested four people in connection with a 23.8 million dollar scam.
Those arrested include city businessman and one-time pastor, Frank Gashumba. The others are Nkonge Swaibu, Timothy Ssebuguzi and another one only identified as Otim.
The four reportedly posed as ministry of internal affairs officials and contacted a Turkish registered company, EYG Trucks to supply fire trucks to Uganda Police Force.

The Turkish officials traveled to Uganda last week and were reportedly booked into Speke Resort Munyonyo ready to sign the agreement. The CID director Edward Ochom told Uganda Radio Network that the police Fraud Unit arrested the four as they prepared to sign the memorandum of understanding with the would be suppliers.
The suspects were later paraded before the media by the police deputy spokesperson, Vincent Sekate.
Ochom says the four will be charged with impersonation, forgery, uttering false documents and obtaining money by false pretence.
