Kenya's Advance Team Rejects Hotel Ahead Of Saturday Game

Sport
Kenya’s advance team has rejected the hotel booked for the Harambee Stars ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Namboole Stadium on Saturday.
Kenya’s advance team has rejected the hotel booked for the Harambee Stars ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Namboole Stadium on Saturday.

Rogers Mulindwa, the spokesperson for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) confirmed to URN that the Kenyans have rejected Sejovalo Hotel in Rubaga.

Mulindwa sounded surprised that Kenya could reject the hotel yet FUFA has hosted other teams such as Angola and Niger at the same venue before. He says FUFA shall maintain the hotel because it meets the requirements issued out by the Confederation of African Football (Caf).

Mulindwa reasoned that they have already reached an understanding with the hotel and there is no change that can be made at this point.

However, the advance team of the Kenya Football Federation led by Swaleh Hussein insisted that FUFA gets them a better hotel before the Harambee Stars team arrives on Friday. The Kenyan officials argued that they booked the Cranes in a good hotel in Nairobi, so Uganda should return the favour.

The archrivals lock horns on Saturday in a do-or-die clash that Uganda Cranes need nothing less than victory to get an outright qualification for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.  Angola are second in the group (J) and play away to Guinea Bissau the same day.
