A swarm of bees on Monday morning plunged the walk to work protests in Rukungiri into chaos, as police sought extra strength to wade off both the stingy bees and the stubborn protesters.
The protests in Rukungiri kicked off at 3:00am, but just as police tried to intercept the protesters, a group of rowdy youths threw stones at a bee hive triggering the wrath of the stingy insects.
Milton Byamugisha, a resident of Rukungiri town told URN on phone that the bees grounded business to a halt.
Elly Maate, the South, South West police public spokesperson, says police deployment in Rukungiri has been stepped up.
// Cue in:”what is possible”…

He says they will arrest and prosecute all those caught in the demonstrations.
