Motorists plying the Hoima- Kampala highway are not happy with the absence of traffic signs along this highway.
Also in the spotlight is the dark and dangerous Hoima-Butiaba road.

Motorists are blaming the Uganda National Roads Authority for failing to realize the critical need of placing vital signs along these roads. Five people have so far died along these roads.

With the anger rising and the roads remaining usable but dangerous, the motorists with support from the ordinary locals have given UNRA a two weeks ultimatum to fix the traffic signs.

Jonathan Wazimbe the engineer UNRA Hoima western office is located in Hoima says the office intends to establish several sign posts near all trading centers along the high way.

He however noted that UNRA’S efforts to fix traffic signs have been thwarted by the rampant roads signs thefts. 80 percent of the traffic road signs placed along the Hoima –Kampala highway have been stolen he said.
