Two political leaders in Iganga district have been arrested for alleged forgery and causing financial loss.
The two have been identified as Mariam Nangobi, the Iganga deputy chairperson and Paul Muwereza, a councilor for the disabled in Iganga central division in Iganga municipality.
Nangobi is accused of using a false ordinary level certificate of 1997 from Bukoyo Secondary School to stand for a political post in the district, which the school authorities disowned.

Steven Kaija, the Iganga Criminal Investigations Officer says police have been hunting for Nangobi, who was at large for the last three months, only to be arrested on Tuesday evening at Iganga district administrative offices.
He says police investigations are still on going as Nangobi remains in police custody. The politician faces forgery charges.
