The seven billionth babies have been born in, a world of “terrible contradictions”, the UN secretary General has said.
The United Nations Secretary-General told a meeting in New York on Monday that the Day of Seven Billion is not about one child but about the entire human family.
He however noted that the world is facing a number of problems, including famine in the Horn of Africa, fighting in Syria and global public anger at economic inequality.
Ban ki-moon said the Billionth babies are being born at a time when people have lost faith in governments and public institutions to do the right thing.
