UPDF Recovers 12 Bombs In Semuliki National Park

Lt. Rwamijuma said on Thursday that the army recovered 9 bombs, 4 self propelled guns and three rapid propelled guns from Rute in Semuliki National park in Bundibugyo district.
The army has recovered twelve (12) bombs in Bundibugyo district, Lt.Ninsiima Rwamijuma, the Army spokesperson for Rwenzori sub region has said.
 
Lt. Rwamijuma said on Thursday that the army recovered 9 bombs, 4 self propelled guns and three rapid propelled guns from Rute in Semuliki National park in Bundibugyo district.
 
The arms cache was recovered during an operation on Tuesday.
 
Lt.Ninsiima says that Rute -20kms off Bundibugyo-Fort Portal road was formerly an ADF rebel camp.
 
The officer says the bombs could have been left behind by the ADF rebels during 1996 insurgency.
 
Lt.Ninsiima says the bombs were taken to Army headquarters 3rd battalion Kanyamirima in Bundibugyo. He said that the ADF rebels are still in Congo about 50kms from the Uganda border.
