Defending women basketball champions UCU Lady Canons qualified for the MTN FUBA finals after out smarting Magic Stormers 86-45 on Wednesday night in a semi final play-off. The University students made it 3-0 in a best of five series as they await the winner between KCC and Kampala International University.
While the UCU Lady Canons are through to the finals, KCC will have to be at their best to dispatch Kampala International University on Friday after taking a 2-0 lead. The KCC team that represented Uganda at the East and Central African basketball Championship in Tanzania a month ago will have to improve on their shooting and defensive abilities if they make it to the finals to face UCU Canons.
In the other game played on Wednesday night, Uganda Christian University Canons made it 2-1 after defeating favourites Kyambogo Warriors 78-66.
On Friday Miracle Eagles handled by George Burua will have to be at their best when they face defending champions DMark Power in game 3 of the men’s semi final series. Power led by Isaac Afidra and Ben Komakech fought back to level the series at 1-all on Tuesday night at the YMCA courts.
