Police in Mubende is stranded with two bodies of women who died in mysterious circumstances.

The dead bodies include that of Scovia Ninsima who died at her home in Kabubbu village while trying to give birth and an unidentified woman who died while seeking treatment in a shrine belonging to Joash Kisoro, a witch doctor at Kitoma village in Nabingoola Sub County on Tuesday.

The Mubende District Police Commander, Enock Abaine says Ninsima was reportedly abandoned for more than six months by the husband, Hassan Kibombo. He adds that no resident knew their relatives and where they came from to settle in the village and attempts to trace her identities have been futile.

Abaine explains that police has also failed to identify the particulars of the woman who died in the shrine. Joash Kisoro is also still on in hiding after disappearing shortly after the incident

The two bodies have been lying at Mubende Hospital mortuary since Tuesday without anybody claiming them.

DPC Abaine says that police is now opting to bury them in Mubende public cemetery if Friday ends without any relative coming to claim them because the hospital can’t keep them longer. He noted that after the burial, the relatives must seek court order to exhume them which process takes time.
