The Bell Lager Super League resumes on Tuesday as strugglers SC Villa face UTODA while Victors take on defending champions, Uganda Revenue Authority.

The League has been on recess to allow players and officials enjoy the Christmas and New Year holidays with their families.

Uganda Super League (USL) Media Officer James Raymond Ssekandi says the target is to complete the first round matches on January 6th, before taking another two-week break to allow the transfer of players take place.

Coach Alex Isabirye’s URA side will have the chance to go top of the table ahead of Express FC if they beat Victors, but they must make sure their leading scorer Robert Ssentongo finds his scoring form. The defending champions are the only unbeaten side in the League with seven wins and five draws.

Sports Club Villa, who are placed 14th on the table, will need to be at their best under new coach Mike Mutebi when they battle UTODA. The former Cranes coach has only managed two draws and a loss since taking over last month. Mutebi says it will take some time before the Jogoos adapt to the kind of football he wants.

The first round will climax on Friday with three matches taking place as army side Simba battle Bunnamwaya, while URA will be back against Fire Masters and giants Express host arch rivals KCC FC at Wankulukuku Stadium. The Second round of the Bell Lager League will kick off on January 20.
