The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Vice President in-charge of the Super League, Mujib Kasule, has said he will not avoid Saturday’s meeting at Sheraton Hotel organized by Uganda Super League (USL).
Kasule says one of the matters on the agenda is likely to be his recent appointment as FUFA Vice President, but that he will still attend the meeting and hear what others have to say.
The Football Federation and USL have been at war over several issues including sponsorship of the League by Uganda Breweries Limited, Eco Bank and DSTV.
Members of the USL, who are the representatives from all the clubs in Super Division, are unhappy with Kasule’s appointment as Vice President because it’s against the Jinja Declaration. According to the Jinja Declaration, only the Chairman or his Vice in the USL set-up can be Vice President in-charge of the League. FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa reportedly went against the Jinja Declaration and appointed the Proline boss to the dismay of many members.
Kasule, however, thinks it’s Mulindwa’s mandate as the President to make his choice.
Clubs expected to send members to Saturday’s meeting include; SC Villa, Express, KCC FC, Simba, Victors, URA FC, Bunnamawaya, Proline, UTODA, Masaka LC, Maroons FC, Bidco FC, Water, Fire Masters and Police FC.
