Sekajugo To Handle Doping At 2012 Nations Cup

The Principal Medical Officer in charge of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in the Ministry of Health, Dr James Sekajugo will be Uganda’s only representative at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Principal Medical Officer in charge of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in the Ministry of Health, Dr James Sekajugo will be Uganda’s only representative at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament which brings together the continent’s top football playing nations starts on January 21 and climaxes on February 12 in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
 
Sekajugo told URN Reporter on Sunday shortly before departing for the tournament that he will be stationed in Equatorial Guinea.

Sekajugo, who was recently appointed on to the FIFA Medical Committee, will be at the soccer fiesta as a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) medical committee.

The former chairman of the Uganda Badminton Association (UBA) said his work is mainly technical and will deal with issues to do with doping.

Uganda Cranes failed to qualify for the event after drawing 0-0 with Kenya at Namboole on October 8th last year. The Cranes needed a win to advance to the finals in wihch they last featured in 1978.
