Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and MPs Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, Wafula Oguttu and Nabilah Ssempala are among the officials at Jinja road police. The others at the same venue are FDC officials Nalwoga Rashida and Jethro Nuwagaba.
 
Kiiza Besigye, the FDC president is, however not at Jinja road police. Unconfirmed reports indicate that he is being held at Kiira Road police station. Judith Nabakooba, the deputy police spokesperson confirms the arrests but adds that she does not know where all the officials are being held.  There is heavy police deployment around Kiira road station.
 
A URN Reporter at Jinja Road Police Station described the situation as tense as the DPC Seiko Chemonges engaged in an exchange with Lukwago on the charges to be preferred against the officials. Chemonges had said that they would be charged with blocking the road.
 
In the middle of the exchange, Chemonges ordered all journalists out of the police premises. Roland Mugume, the Rukungiri Municipality MP and the Luweero Woman MP, Irene Nabukenya were also blocked at the main entrance.
 
Top IPC officials including FDC leader Dr Kiiza Besigye and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago have been arrested on their way to Katwe for a rally organised the Activists for Change.
