Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago on Friday declined to report back to police for a traffic offense he allegedly committed on Thursday.
Lukwago is charged with blocking the road while driving his personal car registration number UAP 861D along Katonga road-Ssezibwa road junction on Thursday.
Speaking to the media on Friday Lukwago said for the 8 hours he spent in custody at the police station police kept getting contradicting orders on the charges to be leveled against him.
Lukwago also complained about the manner in which the police used excessive force to arrest opposition politicians. Police arrested Lukwago, FDC leader, Dr Kiiza Besigye and MPs Nabilah Ssempala and Wafula Oguttu on their way to Katwe for the Inter Party Coalition rally to re-launch the walk to work.
According to Lukwago, reporting back to police is a waste of time and resources on planted charges.

Others who were bonded but never reported back to police include Jethro Nuwagaba and Rashidah Naluwooza on charges of assaulting a police officer.
Seiko Chemonges, the DPC Jinja Road Police station says the doors are still wide open for the suspects to appear.
