 An investigation has been launched after a bag containing sixteen kilograms of cocaine was found at UN headquarters in New York.

The drugs were discovered over a week ago in a bag printed with a false United Nations logo.

They have now been handed over to the US authorities.

The UN undersecretary-general for safety and security, Gregory Starr, said it was probably the work of drug traffickers.
