Moses Okello, the Nwoya District Police Commander says the midnight accident involved a numberless Toyota Ipsum car that was heading towards Pakwach. He said the vehicle hit an ant-hill near the road, overturned and burst into flames killing eight out of the ten travelers on board.

The survivors have been identified as Dorcas Iniwuru, 11 and another eight year old child identified only as Mugali. The two have since been rushed to Kiryandongo hospital where they are on medication for burns they sustained and injuries.

Some of the dead have been identified as Molly Chandiru, Fred Ramaza, Lillian Enyamaremu, Irene and Steven. Okello said the dead are all suspected to be members of the same family.
