The boys’ and girls’ teams under the Uganda Kids Sports Club (TUKS) have landed an invitation to tour and play games in Texas, the United States.
Duncan Klein Kirunga, the Chief Executive Officer of TUKS told URN that they received the invitation recently and are looking for funds to send 44 people including coaches for the trip. Kirunga says the trip, which targets children between 7 and 15 years, will help them get exposed.
The invitation letter signed by Nabawanga Kirabo Nanteza, the president of the African Cultural Exchange, specified that the Ugandan team will play against Hurst Junior School, Harwood Junior High School and Beaumont Junior High.
The letter also stated that a similar aged group soccer team from Texas will travel to Uganda during the summer of 2012 as a counter visit for more friendly games.
The African Cultural Exchange Inc, was founded in 1991 and has as its major role providing cultural ingredient to the mega ethnic cultural melting point of greater Texas and it’s surrounding states. They have also featured cultural programs like; cultural exhibitions, cultural dances, youth education, musical and dance productions, sporting events, business and trade investment opportunities.
