The Uganda Super League Limited (USLL) has finally complied to the demands made by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) to include Hoima-Busia in the league and also have all the matches handled by unqualified referees re-drawn on the fixture.
The Uganda Super League Limited (USLL) has finally complied to the demands made by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) to include Hoima-Busia in the league and also have all the matches handled by unqualified referees re-drawn on the fixture.

Mujib Kasule, Fufa Vice President in-charge of the league told URN on Thursday morning that the federation officials are happy after USLL sent the new fixtures on Wednesday. Hoima-Busia FC, which missed out on the first round of the league, is also included in the new fixtures.

Kasule says with all these resolutions met by USLL, they also hope the banned officials, chairman Kavuma Kabenge and Ebil Ssegawa, the chief executive officer keep away as per the resolutions was resolved. The two were banned for 11 years and one year respectively.

According to the rules that govern the league, all the points involving matches that were not handled by qualified referees will be deducted, but Express FC still remain top of the table ahead of defending champions, Uganda Revenue Authority. According to the new fixture, eight games will be played on Friday with Hoima-Busia battling Maroons in their first game of the season.

Raymond James Ssekandi, the USLL head of communications said that in a meeting held on Wednesday at the Sheraton Hotel, many clubs were wondering who will refund their money used in the games that have now been nullified and will be replayed. The clubs’ officials, according to Ssekandi, think the Federation should compensate them since it is the one that wants games replayed.

But Kasule said Fufa will not compensate any club. He argues that when the three games in the first round were played, USLL did not have Fufa’s blessing and the league had also been suspended when USLL officials went ahead to start the second round. The Bell Lager League is sponsored by Uganda Breweries Limited under their Bell Lager brand, Eco Bank and SuperSport.
