One person died and another one is admitted at Kitgum Government Hospital, after a double cabin pickup truck overturned at Okinya village, located about 25 kilometers on Kitgum Gulu road.
The accident occurred on Tuesday at around 1:00pm as the two were reportedly heading to Gulu for a radio talk-show.
Denis Okot died on spot while Gertrude Oola is nursing injuries at Kitgum hospital.
Speaking from her hospital bed, Oola said they were going for a radio talk-show at Mega FM. According to Oola, the accident occured just as the driver tried to doge a man who attempted to cross the road abruptly.
The driver swerved the vehicle off the road and went rolling into a trench. She says she got herself out of the vehicle, but the driver was caught behind the steering wheel and died on spot.
The medical superintendent of Kitgum hospital, Dr. Alex Layoo says Oola is recovering steadily from the injuries. The doctor says Oola is out of danger and the medical staff are monitoring her condition.

Pader district police commander, Ambrose Sabiiti says his traffic officials cut the door of the vehicle to remove the body of Denis Okot.
Residents at Okinya village, say several accidents have occurred at the same spot where the vehicle overturned. The residents say a few years back, two police officers and a DISO from one of the districts from West Nile perished died at the same spot.
Several vehicles have also overturned and many people are believed to have died from what is being termed as a blackspot.
