Mayuge district officials have been accused of claiming Shs 80 million used for maintaining roads in Bukatuube Sub County.
A total of 32 kilometres of marrum roads was maintained by Busoga Forest Company in the 2010/2011 financial year but Mayuge district officials went ahead to account for the money contrary to Uganda’s anti corruption laws.
Isaac Kapalaga, Managing Director Busoga Forest Company says the Inspectorate of Government should investigate corruption and abuse of office by the district officials.

Kapalaga says the district officials claimed to have maintained the roads from Bufulubi to Kasaali, Lwanika to Kapaluka and another one in Bukonge.
Aggrey Sajjabi, Bukatuube parish chief confirmed to Uganda Radio Network that the roads were not maintained by district officials. He says the work was supervised by Teddy Nsamba, the manager of Busoga Forest Company.
Elizabeth Namanda, Mayuge district Chief Administrative Officer was not in office.
Omar Daktur Bongo, the district LC5 Chairperson says corruption tendencies have been reported among district officials and the money was accounted for in an improper manner.
