Mityana Father Kills Two Children, Injures Wife

Francis Banda a resident of Ggulwe village in Manyi Sub County is on run after he killed two children, leaving the daughter and her mother in critical state on Tuesday night.
Police in Mityana are hunting for a man who allegedly murdered his two children and injured his wife in a domestic wrangle.

Francis Banda, a resident of Ggulwe village in Maanyi Sub County is on the run. He allegedly committed the offence on  Tuesday night.

Police identified the dead children as Justine Babirye (7) and Samuel Kigongo (3). Their injured mother mother Maria Nalwadda and sibling Grace Nakato survived with deep wounds on the head and back . They have been admitted at Mulago hospital in critical state.

The Mityana Police Commander, Alfred Bagambaki, explains that Banda arrived at home at around 11pm on Tuesday night and started quarreling with his wife.  The quarreling drifted into a fight during which he picked a panga and hacked his children to death.

Bagambaki says that preliminary investigations show that  Banda tried to commit suicide,  but later decided to flee.
