Residents of Muyembe Town council in Bulambuli district ,are facing a severe water crisis following a breakdown in the water works.
The Muyembe water works, which supplies water to more than 7,000 people broke down after a power outage, over the weekend.
Residents have resorted to fetch dirty water from surrounding rivers. Some other people queue to collect water from the few bore holes that are available in the town.
Johnson Wofuba, the Bulambuli Town Clerk says he has written to the Area manager of UMEME asking him to address the problem as soon as possible.

But Epilu Stephen, the Umeme Mbale Area Manager said he had not received a complaint from Bulambuli on the power outage.

The Business community also lost appliances like fridges, computers and televisions due to the power outage.
