Sport
Okodi was a member of the first Lawrence Mulindwa administration that assumed office on December 17, 2005.
James Obua Okodi, the district delegate of Soroti District Football Association is set to retire from active football administration after serving for 27 years. Okodi has officially written to the local football governing body-FUFA expressing his intention to retire effective August 31, 2012. Rogers Mulindwa, spokesman Federation of Uganda Football Association says that in his letter to Lawrence Mulindwa, the FUFA president Okodi attributes his decision to retire from football administration to social responsibility and old age.

Okodi was a member of the first Lawrence Mulindwa administration that assumed office on December 17, 2005.
Mulindwa appointed him chairperson of FUFA Zone One. Okodi has served as a delegate in the FUFA assembly since 1998 to date and chairman of Soroti central Football Club since 1986. Between 2005 and 2009, he was elected Eastern Region Vice chairman in charge of administration.

Mike Leti, a member of the current FUFA Executive Committee and chairman FUFA Zone 4 describes Okodi as ‘a tireless servant to the federation’ and urged his colleagues to emulate his example. Samuel Mpima, the FUFA Zone 8 Chairperson says Okodi retires with clean hands saying the FUFA Assembly will miss his moving and authoritative contributions.
