MUK pays tribute to Professor Kajubi

Professor Venansius Baryamureeba, the Makerere university acting vice chancellor has paid tribute to the family of the late professor Senteza Kajubi who passed away on Tuesday. Professor Baryamureeba in a press statement released on Tuesday afternoon says that Makerere University in particular has lost a distinguished alumnus, a renowned scholar, mentor, great grandfather of education in Uganda.

Professor Venansius Baryamureeba, the Makerere university acting vice chancellor, used in his tribute to the late professor Senteza Kajubi who passed away on Tuesday.

Professor Senteza Kajubi demonstrated great love for the institution and through his tenures of office dedicated and committed an exemplary service, Prof Baryamureba said in a press statement issued on Tuesday.

Kajubi’s served as Makerere university vice chancellor between  1977 and  1979 and then between 1990 and 1993.

In February this year, Uganda Radio Network Interviewed Proffesor Kajubi describing his experience with education at Makerere, since independence.

Professor Kajubi was on 20th December 2010, honored for his 60 years of exemplary service to the Education Sector in Uganda.

Kajubi was born in 1926, educated in Uganda’s Makerere University and he proceeded to the University of Chicago in USA, where he earned a Master of Science Degree, specializing in Geography.

Kajubi taught at Kings College Buddo for three years before becoming a lecturer and later senior lecturer at Makerere University.
