Two Die in Jinja Accident

Gabriel Olum, and Florence Musubika died on the spot at the railway crossing along Kyabazinga Way, when a motorcycle registration number UDP 891Q knocked a sugarcane lorry registration number UAK 882Q.
Two people are confirmed dead and another one is hospitalised in critical condition following a fatal accident in Jinja Municipality on Saturday morning.

Mariam Tasobya, who was also involved in the accident, suffered deep cuts on the head and limbs. She is admitted at Jinja Hospital ward 9.

Ali Dhabangi, an eyewitness who was riding a motorcycle behind the accident victims, says that Olum, who was over-speeding, panicked when an on-coming trailer hooted. He in the process rammed into a stationary lorry.  
 
Dickson Rugundana, Jinja traffic officer blames the accident on over-speeding, which made the rider lose control.
 
He says the bodies of the deceased have been taken to Jinja referral hospital for autopsy.
