The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) will print one joint ticket for the two Uganda Cranes’ home games against Senegal and Congo Brazzaville next month.
Rogers Mulindwa, FUFA’s spokesman said on Wednesday that the move is aimed at saving fans from double transport expenses since the two games will take place within two weeks. Uganda Cranes will battle giants Senegal on June 9 in a 2014 World Cup qualifying tie, before hosting Congo Brazzaville on June 16 in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
According to Mulindwa, a bigger percentage of fans trek long distances to come to Kampala and buy tickets, noting that this new system suits them.
Mulindwa says each ticket will cost 25,000 shillings for the open stands and 80,000 shillings for the pavilion. He added that arrangements have already been made with foreign based printers to have two separate coupons on the same ticket clearly indicated for use during each of the two games.
Mulindwa said the tickets will go on sale at least three days before the Senegal game.
He said tickets will be on sale in thirteen points; Hardware World-Ntinda, all the four City Oil Petrol Stations, Shell Capital, Shell Kireka, Shell Ben Kiwanuka Street, Kobil Kasubi, Kobil Kawempe, Total Kireka, Total City Centre opposite Uganda House and City Shoppers Super Market in Mukono Municipality.
The Cranes who started training on Monday under the watchful eyes of head coach Bobby Williamson, will travel next week to Luanda for their 2014 World Cup qualifier against Angola.
