The army had shot dead a rustler in a botched raid on a kraal, about 200 meters from the Presidential lodge at Morulinga in Napak district. His body was found lying in a pool of blood this morning following a shootout with the army and police. The daring raid comes barely a week after rustlers stole over 34 heads of cattle from the same kraal without finding any resistance.
Julius Gobolo, Napak District Police Commander says the warriors have turned into a menace. He says the raiders are taking advantage of the current rains to invade kraals to steal animals. Gobolo says that the warriors have made several attacks on villages to raid animals. However, says that the combined force of the army and police is ready to protect the lives and property of citizens.
In a related incident, Moroto police is holding Michael Loupa the LC1 Chairman of Natapar village in Nadunget Sub County for hiding a notorious rustler in his house. Richard Anyama, Moroto District Police Commander identifies says the rustler as Lopuel Gralee, who is still at large. He says that they also found stolen bull from Nakapiripirit district in the kraal of Loupa. He says that they are holding Loup while hunting for Gralee.
