As Uganda prepare to take on Angola in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Luanda on Sunday, a FUFA official has tipped the Cranes to win.
FUFA Zone 6 Chairman Abbas Ssendyowa says Coach Bobby Williamson has the players to hand Angola.
Ssendyowa was speaking to URN at Hilton Hotel in Nairobi this morning, hours before he officiated as match commissioner in another World Cup qualifier between Kenya and Malawi.
The FUFA official said Uganda came so close to qualifying for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations the last time noting that the Cranes have played Angola several times. This to him makes the Southern African nation a familiar opposition and easy to deal with. Ssendyowa also led the Cranes delegation to Congo Brazzaville when the team lost 3-1 two months ago in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The official said although it was unfortunate that senior players like Ibrahim Ssekagya, Nestroy Kizito and David Obua retired, there were younger players to take over.

There have been cries around Uganda that the team has not been performing this year after losing to Congo Brazzaville and a 2-1 loss to Egypt in a build-up which has caused a slip in the FIFA rankings.
This is the third time the Cranes team is playing Angola in Luanda since 2008. Four of the players who include Captain Andrew Mwesigwa, Mike Sserumaga, Dan Wagaluka and Masaba Simeon have played against the hosts in all matches.
The team includes Onyango Denis, Hamza Muwonge, Masaba Simeon, Iguma Denis, Mawejje Tonny, Mutumba Martin and Fabian Kizito. The other players that made the Angola trip are Bagoole Johnson, Walusimbi Godfrey, Oloya Moses, Okwi Emmanuel and Andy Mwesigwa. Also on the team are Sserumaga Mike, Kalungi Henry, Wasswa Hassan, Kavuma Habib, Wagaluka Dan and Ochan Patrick.
