Adero reportedly advised her to insert a special herb locally known as Ototo into her uterus and instructed her not to remove it.
Apio says that the when the fetus failed to come out, Adero came inserted more herbs after which the fetus came out within two days. She explains that she mortgaged her suit case and paid Adero shillings 10,000 for helping her to abort. Apio says that she was worried to keep the child whose father had disappeared.
