Two head teachers in Sembabule district have been suspended, for rejecting school transfers and spreading malicious propaganda.
Both Nakabira Mzamir Kalinabiri of Kalububbu primary school and Noordin Sembirizi of Kyebunguto primary school, are accused of mobilizing moslem head teachers, to reject the transfer of Muslim head teachers to non Muslim schools.
The district education department early this month, announced transfers of head teachers in 51 schools.
The Sembabule District Education Officer, Gertrude Lubega Nakabira, claims that the 2 head teachers convened a meeting at Mawogola sub county grounds, where they discussed the possibilities of rejecting the transfers.
Nakabira says that the 2 head teachers had earlier refused to relocate to the schools they had been transferred to.
The Sembabule district Chief Administrative Officer, Robert Twesige, said that the head teachers have been sent on suspension, pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.
