Police in Mbale are holding a 26 year old Ugandan herbalist for allegedly conning a South Sudan based nurse of 45 million Sudanese pounds.
Jamada Digo, a resident of Namakole village, Namanyonyi sub-county in Mbale district, is reported to have duped the nurse to pay him 45 million Sudanese pounds, which is approximately 16.8 million US dollars, promising to treat her of an unknown ailment.
It is alleged that after getting the money from the unsuspecting client, Jamada fled back to Uganda.
Diana Nandaula, the Eastern region police spokesperson said he was arrested on Monday in Bussajjabwankuba in the outskirts of Mbale Municipality.
She says police received information from Budela police station in South Sudan where the nurse who police declined to identify reported the case.

Nandaula said his phone was tracked using a serial number that was availed by the telecom companies of South Sudan.
