Two more senior officials of Kabwohe –Itendero town council have been arrested bringing to three, the number of officials arrested for alleged corruption, abuse of office and embezzlement. The suspects are Dauson Natuhwera, treasurer Kabwohe –Itendero town council and Engineer Jonab Tiryebwa.
The suspects were picked up on Monday by detectives from the Special Investigations Unit headquarters, led by Charles Twine. They join, David Beteega, the town clerk of Kabwohe –Itendero town council who was picked up on Sunday from his home in Bushenyi on Sunday.
Charles Twine explains Natuhwera and Tiryebwa were arrested and detained when they went to negotiate the release of Beteega from Kabwohe police station because he was hunting for the duo. He says that the suspects have been transferred to the mid-south western regional offices adding that, he could not keep them at Kabwohe because of poor facilities.
Twine explains that the accused are transferred daily to Kabwohe police station where they are interrogated to help police complete its investigations. He says that suspects will be taken to court immediately investigations are complete. Kabwohe –Itendero town council has been hit by corruption allegations involving councilors and technical officers.
