Table leaders Wanaichi A and Weatherhead have maintained their leads in the on-going National Hockey League.
In the games played last weekend, Wanainchi came from two goals down in the second half to draw 2-2 with Rockets in the men's category in a game played at Lugogo on Saturday evening.
Rockets took the lead with goals from Ali Mohammed and Ronald Othieno.
Wanaichi, however, pulled one back through Andrew Lubega before Musa Mandela made it 2-2.
The women's game saw reigning champions, Weatherhead maintain their perfect start to the season as they won their second successive game following a 2-0 victory over new comers Kampala Hockey club. Vivian Kigozi netted both goals.
In the Men’s category Wanaichi A lead with seven points from three games, while Weatherhead are second on four points and Rockets third on three points. Kampala and Wanaichi B are fourth and fifth respectively.
The women’s table has Weatherhead A at six points after two games, while Kampala is second with three points and Weatherhead B trail with no points collected.
Jackie Namyalo, the Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) spokesperson, told URN that the League is running on smoothly and they expect even tougher games as it progresses.
