William Ntege, a journalist with WBS Television caused a stir today when he decided to pitch camp outside the Police headquarters demanding for the compensation of his cameras that where destroyed during city protests.
With a drip on one hand, Ntege displayed a banner in another hand reading “give me back my two cameras” prompting a crowd to build up outside the Police headquarters. Ntege explained to URN that he decided to pitch camp at Police headquarters after the Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of Police promised to replace his cameras in vain.

Cue out:…………………just recently.”//
Ntege said the cameras are his only source of Income. Ntege said that he had trekked to police headquarters several times and was determined to pitch camp at the police headquarters until Kale gives him his cameras.
//Cue in: “Whenever I come………………………
Cue out:……………….here are your cameras.”//
However, the police would not have any of this. Led by Aplhonse Mutabazi, the police ordered members of the public and Ntege to vacate the police headquarters in vain. As a result, Mutabazi pulled off the drip from Ntege’s hand.
//cue in: “Actually, I look at these officers....
Cue out:………….threw it down.”//
Ntege was later put in a police car registration number UP 1344 and driven off to Kampala Central Police Station. Chris Kataratambi, the regional Criminal Investigations Officer in charge of Kampala metropolitan police declined to comment on the standoff saying that he was not yet aware of his complaint.
//Cue in: “If you call me later…….
Cue out:…………….as simple as that.”//
