FUFA Chief Executive Officer FUFA Edgar Watson has said local coaches will have to be at their best during the Confederation of African Football (CAF) organized course due in August or miss out on handling clubs at continental level in Africa.
Watson says the coaches will have to pass the theoretical and practical parts of the course to be eligible to coach any team in the CAF competitions and.
The development means the likes of Express coach Sam Ssimbwa and URA’s Alex Isabirye must pass the course first before thinking of guiding their teams to continental football next season after winning the Bell Lager League and Bell Uganda Cup titles respectively.
Watson told URN on Tuesday that those eligible are the elite coaches in Uganda. He says the course came about as CAF restructured their coaching system and all examiners will be coming from CAF. After two years the coaches who are active will be eligible to do a CAF license B course.
