Robert Ssebunya, the humanitarian agency’s chairperson, says the funds will support communities who are already displaced and those staying in areas with evident cracks in the districts of Bududa, Sironko, Mbale, Manafwa, Kapchorwa, Bukwo, Bulambuli and Kween.
It shall also go towards affected people staying with host families, relatives, and friends in safer places within the districts.
Micheal Richard Nataka, the agency’s secretary general, says their in-depth and comprehensive assessment shows the needs are shelter, essential household items, improved sanitation, safe water, first aid and psychosocial services.
Nataka also adds that the Red Cross is going to carry out an assessment known as the geographical information system to map out the areas that have cracks and where people need to be moved.

He explains that to come up with the number of affected people, they had fifteen categories of people whose houses had been totally buried.
