Lango College has emerged the overall champion at the just-concluded Lira District Post Primary Schools football competitions.
Lango College beat Amuca Seventh Day Adventist School by two goals to one, in the finals played at Kangai Secondary School. Lango College's victory means it qualifies for the national Coca Cola tournament, which kicks off on April 28th at Kabalega Senior Secondary school in Masindi.
The secretary of the Lira District Football Association, Leo Alani, says that the standard of sports in schools in the district, has improved. He however decries the malpractices in the just-ended tournament, noting that some teams were disqualified for hiring mercenaries from other schools.
